Professional Certification Institute (P.C.I.) Membership Code of Ethics for the Practice
of Mold Inspection, Mold Testing, Mold Remediation, and Environmental Hygiene

In recognition of my obligation to my environmental clients, to the general public, and to the environmental profession, I agree to comply
with all of the following ten P.C.I. Canons of Ethical Conduct.

Objective

The canons provided in this P.C.I. Membership Code of Ethics provide standards of ethical conduct for Certified Mold Inspectors, Certified Mold Remediators, and Certified Environmental Hygienists trained and certified by the Professional Certification Institute, for use by such environmental professionals as they practice their profession and exercise their primary mission, which is to protect the health and well-being of both their clients and the general public from microbiological and other environmental health hazards located in homes, condo's, apartments, offices, factories, retail stores, other workplaces, schools, churches, entertainment facilities, stores, and other occupied buildings of all types.

First Canon of Ethical Conduct
I will practice my profession by following recognized scientific principles with the full understanding that the lives, health, personal well-being, financial well-being, and legal well-being of both my clients and the general public may depend upon my professional judgment, evaluation, recommendations, and provided services.

Second Canon of Ethical Conduct

Third Canon of Ethical Conduct

Fifth Canon of Ethical Conduct
I will perform my professional services only within the areas of my own particular competency, training, and certification. Sixth Canon of Ethical Conduct
I will act responsibly to uphold the integrity of my profession and of my P.C.I. professional training and certification.

Seventh Canon of Ethical Conduct
I will continually keep my professional knowledge and skills current and up-to-date with the ever-changing and ever-happening advances in scientific knowledge and professional practices in regard to the areas of my own particular competence, training, and certification. I will also stay informed of new developments in technology, tools of the trade, building codes, industry standards and guidelines, and any other codes or information that directly affect my professionals services rendered to my clients.

Eighth Canon of Ethical Conduct
I will be honest in advertising my services, avoiding any misrepresentation or deception concerning my available professional services, practices, costs, and fees.

I will provide my services only after securing any necessary bonding and licensing that may be required on a particular project or within a particular jurisdiction.

Tenth Canon of Ethical Conduct
